Welcome to my page! My name is Alyssa Gibson and I am a nutrition student in the dietetics program at Texas State University. My passion for nutrition started in high school when I realized the practicality of this subject and its meaningful application in everyday life.

Just a little bit about me. I grew up in Bedford, TX and was homeschooled by my parents, aunt, and uncle. I enjoy cooking, playing piano, crocheting, reading, and photography. Last spring I was married to my high school
sweetheart and we have been living together in San Marcos, TX this past year. Currently, I am pursuing my bachelor’s degree in nutrition and dietetics from Texas State University. I am a senior and set to graduate in December 2020. My focus as a student is to cultivate my passion for nutrition and increase my opportunities for learning during this dedicated time of study. During the summer of 2020, I earned the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification.
After graduation, I plan become a Certified Dietary Manager. I want to use these certifications to work as the kitchen manager in either a hospital or nursing home setting. I am also planning to take the Registration Examination for Dietetic Technicians and use those credentials to work in a clinical setting under a registered dietitian. My long-term goals are to raise kids and take care of my family using the skills I have learned in my nutrition studies. Thanks for reading and visiting my page!
